DTN COMMENTS: The country is slow to start this morning following
yesterday's moderate to active trading. Asking prices for cattle left on
showlists are around $126 to $127 in the South, and $201 plus in the North.
While it looks like the bulk of business is essentially done for the week, a
few scattered deals here and there today and Friday is very possible. Beef
cutouts are expected to be lower with light to moderate box movement.
So far this week, Southern live deals have been marked at $124 to $126,
steady to $2 higher than last week's weighed averages. Northern dressed
trade has been at $196 to $200, mostly $200, $4 higher than last week's
weighed averages basis Nebraska.
